The Genesis Fund is OffRale Technologies’ flagship development credit program designed to empower youth-led startups across South Africa. Through this initiative, we provide full MVP or proof-of-concept development at zero upfront cost, in exchange for 15–35% equity and a 12-month product validation period.

We created the Genesis Fund to break the barriers that young entrepreneurs face—limited technical resources, high development costs, and lack of early support. Our goal is simple: if you have the vision and commitment, we’ll help you build the product.

Custom MVP or Proof-of-Concept Development

We handle the full design and development of your mobile app, web app, or platform—from wireframes to deployment. Our focus is on building lean, functional products that clearly demonstrate your startup’s value to users and investors

Branding & Visual Identity

We craft your startup’s look and feel with a logo, color palette, typography, and UI style that reflects your brand. You also get a one-page landing website and pitch deck design to help you communicate your vision professionally.

Traction & Validation Support

Over your 12-month validation period, we assist you in gathering real user feedback, setting KPIs, and iterating your product. We’ll also help you prepare for early-stage funding rounds, pitch events, or grant applications.

How the Development Credit Program Works

Our process is simple, transparent, and founder-friendly. We’ve designed it to give you the confidence, resources, and structure you need to launch and validate your startup idea — even without upfront capital..

Apply with Your Startup Idea

Founders submit a brief application outlining their business idea, target audience, and current progress (if any). We look for ambitious, mission-driven youth under 35 with tech-enabled ideas that solve real-world problems.

Shortlisting & Selection

Our team reviews applications and selects ventures with high potential for impact, scalability, and product-market fit. Selected founders will undergo a brief onboarding session to align goals, timelines, and expectations.

We Build Your MVP or Proof of Concept

Once accepted, we take on the development of your MVP or proof of concept at zero upfront cost. This includes UI/UX design, core features, and backend infrastructure, all tailored to your business needs and goals.

You Receive 12 - 24 Months to Validate Your Idea

After delivery, you will have 12 - 24 months to test the product, gather real user feedback, iterate, and demonstrate traction. During this time, we remain available for guidance, bug fixes, or minor updates if needed.

Instead of paying cash, you agree to offer 15–35% equity in your startup, based on the project scope and potential. This creates alignment—we succeed when you succeed.
If, after 12 - 24 months, the startup fails to gain traction and shuts down, we only require partial credit repayment (typically 50–65% of the original cost, with flexible terms).

If You Gain Traction, We Help You Scale

For startups that prove viability, we assist with investor introductions, grant applications, and growth strategies. You continue building on a solid digital foundation, backed by OffRale’s ongoing support and network.

The Genesis Fund is open to bold, visionary individuals or teams who are in the early stages of building impactful digital startups—but lack the technical resources or funding to bring their ideas to life. We're especially passionate about empowering young South African innovators who want to use tech to solve real problems in their communities.

An early-stage startup team that has done basic market validation but needs a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test in the market

An individual with a unique concept who may not have a team yet—but is hungry to build one and willing to collaborate

A youth-led initiative with social, economic, educational, or environmental impact

We prioritize ideas that are digitally driven, scalable, and impact-focused—and applicants who show grit, initiative, and the ability to execute.
